Week Three Prayer Guide for 40 Days Fasting & Prayer

1.     Read Psalm 24:3-4, Joel 2:12-13

Pray that your desires will be more aligned to the desires of Heaven.

Pray that you will continue to love what God loves and hate what He hates.

Declare that I am helped by God every day to choose the path of holiness and righteous living.

2.    Read Isaiah 40:29-31, John 13:35, 1 John 4:17

Pray that this season of waiting on God will result in complete and total renewal in every area of your life. Pray that this renewal will lead to love and devotion to God, love for people and a consecrated life.

Declare that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ; I love God and I love people. I love my neighbour who I can see. The love of God is perfected in me, and as Jesus is, so am I in this world.

3.    Read Isaiah 43:18-19, Psalm 126:1-3

Thank God for the new thing He is doing this season.

Ask for more grace to let go of the old and make room for the new thing God is doing in and through you.

Pray that all the wonderful experiences you’ve had so far, will be nothing compared to what God is doing in and through you this season.

Declare that my spirit, soul and body are in complete agreement with God’s plan.

4.    Read John 6:68, 2 Samuel 22:33, Psalm 16:5

Pray for strength to abide in the presence of God every day.

Pray that as you journey with God, your errors are diminished because your steps are ordered by Him and He preserves and watches over all that you commit to His care.

Declare that the presence of God is my advantage this year and my steps are ordered by the Lord. I mount up on eagles’ wings and challenges cannot cling to me.

5.    Read Psalm 20:7, Deuteronomy 20:1

Pray for grace to trust God more than ever before this year.

Declare that my trust is in YAHWEH alone, the only living God. With Him I can confront any challenge that comes my way and with Him my victory is certain.

6.   Read Jeremiah 17:5-8, Joel 2:23-24

Pray that as God increases your trust in Him, you will not fear or be anxious of any drought this year. Pray that your leaves will remain green throughout 2024.

Declare that God’s presence nourishes and waters my life. I am like a well-watered garden that produces its fruits in season.

7.    Read Joel 2:3, Proverbs 18:10

Pray for God’s total deliverance in every area of your life this year.

Pray that God goes ahead of you to make crocked paths straight just as He has promised. Declare that I find safety and help in God’s name and I refuse to be afraid.
