Week Five Prayer Guide for 40 Days Fasting & Prayer
1. Read Galatians 3:1-3, 1 Timothy 1:18-19
Pray for grace to finish the race set before you. Pray that you will not make a shipwreck of the work the Lord is doing in you this season.
Declare that I am perfected in the Spirit and not in the flesh.
2. Read 2 Timothy 2:3-5, 1 Corinthians 9:24-26
Pray that your heart and focus will remain on God this season and beyond. Ask for grace not to be distracted. Pray for the grace to continue to follow the Lord in proximity and not from afar. Declare that I receive the reward for my labour and sacrifices.
3. Read Psalm 19:7-11, Psalm 119:9-16
Pray that the Word of God will continue to do its work in your life – the work of purification, preservation, and perfection. Pray that as you read and study the word daily, you are revived, you gain wisdom and great reward.
Declare that I delight myself in God’s word. I go from the place of discipline into the place of delight. I yearn and pant for living water every day.
4. Read 2 Samuel 22:2-3,32-33, Psalm 31:3
Pray that your security and confidence in 2024 will be in no other but in God. Pray that the name of God on your lips will answer for you in time of trouble. Declare that God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect. The Lord is my rock and fortress, the one who leads and guides me.
5. Read Psalm 18:28-29, Psalm 36:9, Psalm 119:105
Pray that the light of God will enlighten any path that still appears dark to you before these 40 days are over. Pray that the Word of God illuminates your path in any area of your life you need to see clearly and as a result you will not work in error. Declare that by my God, I can run against a troop and leap over any walls before me this year.
6. Read Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10 TPT, AMPC
Pray for the grace to work and walk in alignment with God’s plan for your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in the way you should go so that you do not step out of God’s plan or His will for your life. Declare that God’s plans for me are plans of peace and not evil, to give me a future and a hope.
7. Read Psalm 46 TPT
Declare that you remain anchored in God no matter the challenges that come your way. Declare that I triumph, and I am victorious because the Lord is my safe place and my very present help in time of trouble.
